Nothing like a Christmas Day call to Poison Control

Remember those little plastic tubes of goo that smelled like nail polish? Santa put the stuff in the kid's stockings. Matthew thought it was Candy Bubbles and proceeded to finish one off for a light snack. Tina, the nice lady at Poison Control said he would be fine. Nothing a big glass of milk would not fix. (I gotta come up with a better way to get him to drink his milk!) Of course I could really "milk" this one and tell him he needs to drink milk for the rest of his life in order to survive the Super Plastic Bubble Plastic incident of '05.

Every year our friends have a Chinese gift exchange. Austin Powers with a strategically placed British Flag showed up. A really gross and disgusting plush animal basket made it's way back. I really was leaning toward the flask, but oh well! I ended up with a many times regifted ancient funnel cake maker. Once the kids saw it, it was imperitive that we make funnel cake. So we did.

I'll never admit it to the sneaky, conniving gift giver...but gosh was it good...powdered sugar, warm fried dough...Yum!

the land of perpetual sneezes

I've already "opened" one of my Christmas Presents. They arrived yesterday. Unbeknownst to me Bogin hired housekeepers! It was great. They made the beds, mopped, swept, and scrubbed all day long. They fought an epic battle with the ferocious dust bunny colony on the ledge above our front door. In the end the cleaners were victorious!

Now they will come visit us every other week.

Matthew was disappointed to find out, he still had to clean his room. Oh well...
